Leicester's two universities go head-to-head at Welford Road on March 6 as part of the annual Varsity fixture between De Monfort University and University of Leicester’s Men’s and Women’s rugby teams.

The Women’s teams kick off the action at 6.15pm with the Men’s fixture taking place at 8.05pm as DMU look to avenge last year’s University of Leicester double. 

DMU Men’s last lifted the trophy in 2009 with University of Leicester’s Women’s team having never lost a fixture since Welford Road first hosted the women’s game in 2004.

The University of Leicester’s Men’s team come into the fixture with the first team sitting top of the BUCS Rugby Union Midlands’s 1A league, with DMU firsts sitting fifth in the BUCS Rugby Union Midlands 2B.

De Monfort University’s Women’s first team are second in BUCS Rugby Union Midlands 3A division whilst University of Leicester firsts currently occupy fifth in the BUCS Rugby Union Midlands 1A.

The presentation of both trophies will take place on the Welford Road pitch after each respected fixture. 

Tickets for this year's Varsity fixture are available from the Leicester Tigers ticket office on the gate for £7.50.

Gates open from 6.00pm and with entry through The Breedon Stand only. Bag and security checks will be in place and no food or beverage will be allowed to be bought into the stadium.
