Sam Vesty says he will feel the benefit of his 80-minute appearance for the Leicester Tigers Development XV as he continues to make his return from injury.
The fly-half landed four conversions in Tigers’ 33-25 win over Sale Jets 33-25 in the Premier Rugby ‘A’ League at Welford Road on Monday night.
Vesty, who last played for Tigers in the Heineken Cup Final, said he has an eye on a first-team return “as soon as possible”.
“I will feel the benefit of that hugely,” said the England international. “That was the best form of rehab I could get at this stage. I feel sharper for it.”
He added: “It was really good fun. I enjoyed getting back out on to the park and we did some good things.
“These games are good for trying things and enjoying yourself and that’s what we did.”
