The versatile back was recognised by the Tigers squad at an entertaining evening with the players’ sponsors at Welford Road this week.
Vesty said: “When you go out on the pitch, you always go out to play for your team mates.
“To get their recognition in such a way is a dream come true and the ultimate accolade for a rugby player.”
Tigers scrum-half Ben Youngs, who will tour Japan this summer with England Under-20s, was named the Young Player ofthe Year.
The evening is always one of the highlights of the season with the Tigers players joining their sponsors for a three-course meal in the Underwood Suite.
Coaches Richard Cockerill, Matt O’Connor and Paul Burke shared their thoughts on the season so far while a number of players including Tom Croft, Ben Kay and Geordan Murphy took part in question-and-answer sessions.
