The voting for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month promises to be closely run with Vereniki Goneva, Logovi'i Mulipola and Ed Slater shortlisted for the award.

They will be aiming to follow Blaine Scully, the Goldsmiths Player of the Month for February, and fans can place their vote now by clicking here.

Scully has been away on international duty with the USA Eagles for the past two weeks as they qualified for next year’s World Cup in England.

He was returned to Tigers’ Oval Park training ground to be presented with his award by director of rugby Richard Cockerill on Tuesday.

“Blaine has settled in well and has been really good for us,” said Cockerill. “The Goldsmiths Player of the Month award is a great incentive for the players to keep performing and to keep producing.

“They love it and the fact that it’s voted for by the supporters really means a lot to them.”

Goneva, who won the Goldsmiths Player of the Month award in September, has scored six tries in his last six games and was also instrumental in creating the tries for Manu Tuilagi and Mulipola against Exeter. Click here to watch some of his tries again on the Tigers YouTube channel.

The Fiji international’s form earned him a nomination for the Aviva Premiership Player of the Month, as well as his place on the Goldsmiths award shortlist.

Prop Mulipola’s return from injury has coincided with a move from loosehead to the tighthead side of the scrum in the absence of Dan Cole, and he is producing some of his best form of the season.

His try against Exeter was a highlight of the season so far at Welford Road and earned the Samoa international the title of Try of the Week for Round 17 of the Aviva Premiership. Click here to watch the try again.

It has been a notable few weeks for Ed Slater, who continues to impress with his performances in the Tigers engine room, underlined by his Aviva Man-of-the-Match display against Northampton Saints.

The Leicester-born lock was called into the England squad for the RBS 6 Nations and, while he has had to wait for his international debut, he was handed the captain’s armband for the last four Tigers games.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
