Voting open for Goldsmiths award

Voting is now open for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month for November.

Graham Kitchener, David Mele and Ed Slater are on the three-man shortlist for the award and supporters can vote for their favourites now via the Goldsmiths Facebook page.

Kitchener has been in eye-catching form in defence and attack, in the set-piece and in the loose during November. He made 22 tackles against Harlequins, 16 against London Irish and was at the heart of the scrum that yielded penalty tries against the Exiles.

This is the second nomination for Mele this season. Mele was a guiding hand for the young squad that recorded victory over Worcester Warriors at Sixways in the LV= Cup. The scrum-half was part of the senior core that helped make it back-to-back victories at the start of the competition.

And he was also impressive in the Aviva Premiership game against Quins, with a 95 per cent pass accuracy rate.

Slater displayed his versatility with performances in the back and second rows. He shrugged off a wrist injury sustained early in the game against Harlequins to produce an excellent performance with 17 tackles, 15 clean outs at rucks and two steals at the breakdown.

The Tigers Player of the Month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.
