Freddie Burns says Leicester Tigers got what they set out to achieve after Saturday's 25-18 Aviva Premiership victory over Exeter Chiefs.Burns enjoyed a 100 per cent record from the tee in windy conditions at Welford Road, kicking six penalties and a conversion.
After the final whistle, he was interviewed by Junior Tigers Club member Paige Wignall, who took on the role of matchday reporter for Saturday’s JTC Takeover Day.
Paige, 11, joined written, radio and TV reporters covering the game from the press box in the Holland & Barrett Stand and interviewed Burns for LTTV. Click here to watch the interview.
Burns said: “I think the game went well. It was always going to be tough against Exeter, who were in second place. It was good to get the win.
I"t was a little bit frustrating not to get more points on the board but we had to get the win and that’s what we did.
“My goal kicking went well. I am happy with my game management. It’s hard in these games because you just want to get the win and that’s what we tried to do.”
