Leeds recorded their first Guinness Premiership victory of the season with a 15-9 success at Adams Park at the start of November.
They followed it up with victory over Tigers in the LV= Cup and led 17-3 during the second half of last weekend’s league fixture against Sale before the Sharks fought back to win 24-17.
Tigers head coach Cockerill has warned that Leeds, under the guidance of his former team-mate Neil Back, will again be fired up for their trip to Leicester.
“Leeds will be physical and well organised,” said Cockerill. “They scored two good tries against Sale Sharks last weekend and they will battle hard.
“They will approach the game just as they approached the Wasps game and that is a warning to us.”
Cockerill added: “Backy will be telling his players not to fear Welford Road and just give it their best effort.
“It would be huge for them if they can win at Wasps and Leicester. We do not want to be on that banana skin. We have to make sure we are physical and accurate in what we are trying to do.”
Cockerill said the huge support Tigers enjoy at Welford Road, where they are unbeaten in more than a year, would play a big factor in the game.
“Welford Road is a huge factor for us,” said Cockerill. “We have a good home record and we love playing there but we also have to earn the right to win games, home or away.
“The players love to play with the crowd behind them. Teams come here knowing it is a hard place to win. That is a big help to us but we have to perform. We need to play as well as we can and show we are a good side.”
Tickets will be available until kick off. Book online, call 0844 856 1880 or visit the Tigers ticket office in the new Caterpillar Stand at Welford Road.
