Vereniki Goneva says there is a good feeling in the Tigers camp after victory over Newcastle made it four wins from four Aviva Premiership fixtures during the Six Nations.

Goneva was named the Aviva Man-of-theMatch after scoring two of Tigers’ four tries in the 41-18 victory at Kingston Park, the ninth and tenth of the campaign for Tigers’ top scorer.

The victory followed wins at Worcester Warriors, London Irish and at home to Gloucester Rugby and moved Tigers level with third-placed Bath Rugby in the table with six rounds left in the regular Aviva Premiership season.

Goneva said: “Our aim during the Six Nations was to win our four games in that period and after the win at Newcastle we have done that.

“It is a good feeling because that’s what we set out to do in this period. It has put in the mix in the table but we know there is a lot of hard work still to do.”

Tigers are next in action against Exeter Chiefs at Welford Road on Sunday, March 23 as the LV= Cup resumes, and Goneva added: “We have a bit of a break now. We’ve got plenty to work on, we’ll recharge our batteries and go again.”
