Women's team members visit Tigers Rugby Camps

Members of the club’s new women’s team will be among the special guests at Leicester Tigers Rugby Camps this summer.

Tigers Rugby Camps are hosted by venues throughout the region and this summer they will feature visits from the Gallagher Premiership trophy, the Tigers Club Shop and players from the men’s and women’s squads.

Camps are aimed at girls and boys, from under-7s upwards, with the focus on skills development in a fun and active setting with professional coaches.

Georgia Westwood and Roisin McBrien from the women’s team with previous Premiership experience will visit Lichfield RUFC during next week while team-mate Ella-Mae Fereday is on her way to Shipston-on-Stour to offer their encouragement to young players.

Places are available throughout the summer school holidays, with Tigers Rugby Camps at 13 locations.

Venues include Holt, Newark, Scarborough, Sheffield Tigers, Stafford, Leicester Forest, Market Harborough, Syston, Stamford School and Trent College as well as Lichfield and Shipston on Stour.

Delivery is split into four categories to provide the best possible experience in each age-group:

Tag Rugby Camps provide a contact-free introduction to rugby for the under-7 and under-8 age-groups, with games and activities over three mornings to help develop movement, rugby and social skills.

Core Camps run over 4-5 full days for the under-9s to under-13s age-groups with sessions based on fun activities, rugby skills and fundamental fitness.

Development Camps are for under-14, 15 and 16 players on three afternoons with a sharper focus on tactical and technical skills alongside athletic development, based on the themes of the Tigers Junior Academy and ACE college programmes.

Girls-Only Camps are suitable for all abilities in the under-13, 15 and 18 groups to develop skills, confidence and game awareness.

Places are available to book online, or phone the Tigers ticket office team on 0116 319 8888 (option 2).
