Youngs named in England squad for first time

Ben Youngs has been included in the England matchday squad for the first time ahead of Saturday's RBS 6 Nations match against Scotland at Murrayfield.

The Leicester Tigers scrum-half has been capped through the age-groups with England and played in the IRB Junior World Championships Final last summer, but this is his first call into the senior 22 after an impressive run of form with his club.

Tigers team-mates Dan Cole and Louis Deacon are named in England’s starting line-up.

Cole gains a fourth cap after scoring his first try in the last outing against Ireland, while Deacon gains a 17th cap after appearing as an early replacement for the injured Simon Shaw in the last round.

Lewis Moody joins Youngs among the England replacements as Joe Worsley is called up to make his first start of the campaign.

Tigers fly-half Toby Flood is also named in the 22, while Northampton Saints forward Courtney Lawes, who won his first cap as a replacement against Australia last November, is added to the replacements following Deacon’s elevation to the starting line-up.
