Your stories, STILL TIGERS | The Richardsons

Having already taken a look at some of the benefits of picking up a Leicester Tigers season ticket and some of Geordan Murphy’s highest-profile acquisitions for the new campaign, we’re now shifting our attention to the other members of the #TigersFamily … YOU.

Every seat has a story, so each day this week we’ll be focusing on a different area of the stadium and telling the stories of the people who cheer on Tigers through thick and thin.

In this first edition, we speak to The Richardsons, who sit in The Robin Hood Stand.

Chris and Polly, from Stafford, make a 120-mile round trip for every Welford Road matchday – but say the journey is worth it.

“We’ve been coming for 14 years, but we still get that same level of excitement every game, and every time the players run out,” Polly explains. “That alone makes the journey worth it.”

The couple moved to Welford Road’s newest stand in 2017 and haven’t looked back.

Polly continued: “We used to sit elsewhere, but we made the decision at the end of [the 2016/17 season] to come and try out a different view.

“We love the different perspective from behind the goalposts, so these seats are perfect for us.”

Seeing the team press the line right in front of them and watching the inner workings of the Tigers attack are big reasons for Chris and Polly’s choice of seats – especially given Chris’ favourite player.

“My favourite has got to be Telusa Veainu,” he says. “I just love watching him play, and from here we can see it all.”

Season ticket packages are still available around the ground for 2019/20, across all four stands as well as the terrace.
