Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth I College, featuring Leicester Tigers Academy players, beat Moulton College 43-15 to make it four wins out of four at the start of the AASE League season. After opening the season with victory at Worcester, followed by wins over Myerscough College at home and away to Oaklands, Wyggeston followed up with a six-try win over Moulton College at Oval Park.
Academy players Alex Galletly, Jordan Olowofela and Sam Yawayawa each scored two tries, with fly-half Jacob Umaga kicking the rest of the points.
Second-rower Galletly provided the opening try after an early penalty from Umaga who also added the conversion.
Olowofela opened his account on the half-hour, with Umaga adding the conversion to make it 17-3 at half-time.
A second from Olowofela was converted by Umaga before Yawayawa got his name on the score sheet with two tries.
Moulton College claimed two of their own before Galletly secured the win with a late score converted by Umaga.
Wyggeston College joined the AASE League this season, with the 14 competing teams separated into North and South pools. Each team plays each other once before splitting into top three and bottom four within their regions. They then face each other once more in the sub-groups ahead of Finals Day on December 2, where it is proposed that the top three teams in the North will meet their counterparts in the South.
