There are two opportunities to see Leicester Tigers Academy teams in action this weekend with two age-group fixtures in the space of 24 hours.Oval Park hosts a local derby against Northampton Saints at under-17 level on Saturday (kick-off is at midday) and there is an under-19 contest away to Bedford on Sunday (also at midday).
Last weekend, the Tigers Academy recorded a 33-5 victory over England Under-18 Clubs & Counties at Oval Park, with tries from Sam Yawayawa (2), Jacob Umaga, Stone Priestley-Nangle and George Worth.
“It was a pretty good performance,” said academy coach Brett Deacon. “We had a lot of first-years in the team that started the game and in the second half used more of the under-19s so those younger lads could see where their work here needs to take them in the next two years.”
