Academy players play in International Series

England U18s have named Leicester Tigers academy forwards James Whitcombe and George Martin in their team to play South Africa Schools on Saturday.

Wales U18s, meanwhile, have named Tigers academy fly-half Sam Costelow, who scored a try against England in Wales’ 26-20 victory last time out, on the bench as they take on undefeated France in their final fixture in Cape Town on Saturday (11:15 BST, S4C live stream).

It is one of 13 changes made by Wales head coach Chris Horsman, and he said: “While France tomorrow is going to be a huge opportunity for us, it's not about beating France: it's about this group of players understanding how you go about beating a team like France.”

Prop Whitcombe and lock Martin return to the England line-up after starting the opening game against France, as coaches Steve Bates and Jim Mallinder make eight changes for the game in Cape Town.

Bates said: “Any international fixture is always special, but to play South Africa in South Africa will be a proud moment for these players who will play with a huge amount of passion.”
