Academy ready for international challenge

Figure image
Leicester Tigers Academy completed their preparation for their match against Wales with a team run at Welford Road, the venue for Sunday's international encounter.

Academy manager Neil McCarthy said: “We’ve had a good week of preparation for the game and it should be an excellent occasion for the players and the supporters.”

Tigers have lost just three times all season, and will be looking to build on the international experience gained in matches against France Under-19s and England Under-18s last season.

The Tigers side includes scrum-half Sam Harrison who made his first-team debut in the home win over Benetton Treviso in the Heineken Cup and back-rower Seb Pearson who played in the EDF Energy Cup win at Bath earlier this season, as well as a number of players who have gained Guinness A League experience this term

Kick-off at Welford Road is 2pm on Sunday and admission is free. The ABC Bar will be open for hot and cold refreshments.
