Rugby School is to host the Leicester Tigers Academy's international fixture against Wales Under-18s this month.Tigers have enjoyed a number of encounters with international age-group opposition in recent seasons, with sides representing England, Wales, Scotland, France and Canada among those visiting Welford Road. The team have also played against Georgia’s Under-20s earlier this season.
The match against Wales Under-18s will be held at Rugby School, the birthplace of the game, on Sunday, February 22. Kick-off is at 2.30pm.
“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to use the facilities at Rugby School for such a big game,” said Academy assistant manager Tosh Askew.
“Rugby School is an excellent venue and we’re looking forward to it.
“Playing against representative sides is a very useful part of the programme because these fixtures provide a test for the squad.”
After the Wales fixture, Tigers Academy face further international opposition in the shape of England Clubs & Schools Under-18s at Welford Road on Sunday, March 15.
