Leicester Tigers gave player sponsors, executive box holders and 1880 members exclusive access to the Oval park training ground on Tuesday – and provided a Pacific Islands flavour to the day thanks to the Tuilagi family.
Club chief executive Simon Cohen and head coach Matt O’Connor spoke to guests who watched the squad in training ahead of the final pre-season fixture against London Irish as well as enjoying a tour of the facilities and seeing the work behind the scenes that goes into getting a team on the pitch.
Cohen said: “We’re delighted to welcome you today in the company of the players. I cannot over-emphasise how much we value the support we receive.”
Guests also enjoyed lunch at pitchside, cooked in traditional Samoan umu style by former Tigers favourites Freddie and Henry Tuilagi.
