Samoan winger Alesana Tuilagi has signed a new contract to extend his stay at Leicester Tigers.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form since pushing his way back into the Tigers side this season and head coach Pat Howard said: "He has matured as a player this season. We always knew that he had this kind of form in him and he has been putting in consistent performances over recent months which have been rewarded with a new contract."

Tuilagi said: "I really want to stay here because there are a lot of good players, I am always learning and I love it here."

An international with Samoa and the Pacific Islanders, Tuilagi has scored 21 tries in 53 games for Leicester since becoming the third member of the family to make his debut for the club after older brothers Freddie and Henry. Alesana made his Tigers debut against Leeds Tykes in September 2004 after moving to Welford Road from Parma in Italy.
