The group of high school students aged between 16 and 19 have been on tour in England and joined a 22,000-strong crowd at Welford Road for the Aviva Premiership match between Leicester Tigers and Gloucester.
On the morning of the game they took part in a Mark Group Matchday Coaching Clinic before acting as Tigers flag-wavers on the pitch just ahead of kick-off in the big game.
Then they joined the half-time parade on the pitch and had their photo taken with Tigers hooker George Chuter, the Premiership’s record appearance-maker.
To cap their day, they saw USA international Blaine Scully play his part in a narrow 11-8 victory for the Tigers.
Coach Chris Babiash accompanied the group from Minnesota and said: “We do a tour every two years and this year we’ve been based in Rugby. We’ve played two games already – and won them both – and had a great day with the Leicester Tigers.
“The coaching clinic was great and we’ve loved the occasion here with the club.
“It’s great to see the club taking care of the kids and we’ve loved the experience.”
