Tamworth RFC hosted the second festival of the Prima Tiger Cup 2016/17 season for under-10s teams on Sunday.
Supported by Prima Solutions of Loughborough, the Prima Tiger Cup is a free-to-enter fun event open to all clubs over four regional festivals. Throughoutthese festivals the Tigers will be looking to identify clubs who demonstrate the true ethos of the game under our event criteria in keeping with the RFU Age Grade Rules and guidelines.
On Sunday teams representing the rugby clubs from Ashby, Barton, Bourneville, Lichfield, Sandbach, Shrewsbury, Silhillians, Stoke, Syston and hosts Tamworth took part in the second festival, with Tigers and Italy prop Michele Rizzo watching all the action from the touchlines.
Teams representing Silhillians, Sandbach, Lichfield, Shewsbury, Tamworth and Bourneville have now been invited to participate in a series of games to be held at a later date at the Tigers’ Welford Road stadium, providing a fantastic experience to young and aspiring players.
Attracting more than 70 entries each season, the Prima Tiger Cup is the largest and most prestigious single age playing opportunity in the rugby calendar.
This season’s remaining area festival are at Lutterworth RFC on October 9 and Mellish RFC on October 16.
