Are you ready for Oktoberfest?

It’s time to dig out your lederhosen, don your feather alpine cap and say ‘Guten Tag’ to a range of tasty Bavarian treats at Welford Road this Saturday.

Tigers and club partner STIHL welcome back Oktoberfest to Welford Road for the Aviva Premiership Round 5 fixture against Exeter Chiefs and we’ve put together this handy guide for fans to enjoy their day.

What is Oktoberfest?

A German festival based in Munich, the event is now celebrated worldwide and visitors can enjoy a selection of food, drinks and traditional entertainment.

What time does the fun start?

We’ll be opening The Final Whistle and Plaza earlier than usual at 12.00pm on Saturday ahead of kick-off at 3.00pm.

What is there to do?

There is a selection of German themed food and beers available on the plaza outside the Holland & Barrett Stand and bars will also stock a special Oktoberfest edition of the drinks cups.

Enjoy the sounds of a traditional Oompah band, who will be playing at 12.15pm, 1.15pm, 2.15pm and in the final whistle after the match before resident band Rock Bottom take over at 5.45pm.

Have a go at the STIHL’s tackle bag and look out for some STIHL give-aways too.

Finally, we’ll leave you with some handy German phrases that may be of use:

Another beer please “Noch ein Bier, bitte

Cheers “Prost

Hold on to your Lederhosen! “Halt deine Lederhosen fest!”

Match tickets for Saturday are still available, priced from £20 adults and £10 juniors. Book in person at Welford Road or phone 0116 319 8888 (option 2). The office is open 9.00am-5.00pm Monday-Saturday every week. Or book online any time.
