The fixtures for the 2016/17 Aviva Premiership season will be announced on Thursday, July 7, Premiership Rugby have confirmed.

However, a date is yet to be confirmed for the announcement of fixtures in Europe’s Champions Cup. Once a date is set Leicester Tigers will announce it through the club website and social media channels.

Tigers will face a trip to Ashton Gate in the new campaign after Bristol Rugby won promotion back to the Aviva Premiership last night.

Bristol were beaten 34-32 at home by Doncaster Knights in the second leg of their promotion play-off at Ashton Gate.

However, Bristol went through 60-47 on aggregate after winning the first leg 28-13.

It will mean a return to his old club for Ellis Genge after it was confirmed today that his loan move from Bristol to Welford Road will become permanent.

Jordan Crane, meanwhile, will return to Welford Road next season as a Bristol player. The No8 is moving to the south west after 10 years and more than 200 games for the Tigers.

After the full-time whistle had sounded at Ashton Gate, Crane tweeted: “Wow I think I have aged a few years over the last 80mins. Fair play to all the @Bristol_RFC players and staff great effort. Boom”
