Brendon O’Connor says Leicester Tigers’ away form is heading in the right direction after recording a third successive Aviva Premiership win on the road.

Tigers beat Newcastle Falcons 30-13 at Kingston Park on Sunday afternoon to move above their opponents into third in the table.

The victory followed wins at Harlequins and London Irish, and O’Connor says the away form is pleasing for Tigers.

“That’s a third away win on the trot,” said O’Connor. “Having struggled in the past few seasons away from home, it is nice to be able to get those points on the road.

“At times it got a bit messy and they sort of fed off our mistakes and were able to get some offloads away that made it tough for us.”

“All credit to the boys for sticking in there and getting a couple of penalties at the end. We were happy to get that win in the end.”

Tigers return to Welford Road this Saturday when they begin their Anglo-Welsh Cup defence. Gloucester Rugby are the visitors for a 3pm kick-off.
