The hugely successful Fit Fans programme returns next week and Leicester Tigers are offering supporters the chance to get involved.

Tigers launched Fit Fans for free in February, offering a 10-week healthy eating and exercise programme to help supporters kick off 2014.

More than 50 fans took part in weekly sessions at Welford Road, receiving personalised training programmes and advice from Tigers coaches.

The results have been remarkable and the feedback from participants has been very positive.

And as a result, Fit Fans returns on Monday (May 19) with two opportunities for fans to get involved for FREE. Sessions are held every Monday evening from 6pm-7pm and 8pm-9pm.

Click here to register. Please note, places are limited and participants’ names will be drawn at random.

Activities in the first Fit Fans included circuits, boxing and even a touch rugby tournament on the Welford Road pitch. The programme also included emails containing nutritional and physical information, such as meal plans and physical challenges, for fans to take part at home.

The programme is delivered in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere to encourage fans to get involved and enjoy the experience.

Fit Fan participant Nigel Coe said: “I joined fit fans in all honesty because it finally clicked that my relaxed life style was killing me.

“As someone who was fit and active due to playing rugby, just going to a gym didn't work for me due to a total lack of motivation.

“I know it should come from within, but I missed that camaraderie of being part of a group and supporting each other.

“Fit Fans filled that perfectly with the rugby ethos of a place for everyone firmly evident and who wouldn't want the chance to train with Tigers coaches?

“My fitness has increased unbelievably from where I started after just ten weeks effort and I can't wait for the next session to start.”

Sally Crocker, another Fit Fans participant, added: “I know I need to be fit but my problem is motivation.

“When this opportunity came up it was too good to miss so I applied and was lucky enough to be chosen.

“I am finding the way the fitness course is structured inspires me to workout at home, as not doing so feels like I'd be letting the side down.

“As I feel so much better than I did at the start of the course I had no hesitation in booking up for the next 10 weeks.”
