Ben Youngs says he is as excited as ever about the start of the season as kick-off to the new Aviva Premiership campaign approaches.

Tigers begin the season this Sunday against traditional rivals Bath Rugby at Welford Road. Kick-off is at 3pm and match tickets are still available.

Tigers warmed up for the season with an impressive 40-14 win over Ospreys at Welford Road on Friday.

And Youngs, who made his first start of pre-season in the win over the Welsh region, said: “I think the club is in a really good place.

“Matt O’Connor has come in, he has put his own stamp on things and we have had a good pre-season.

"We are looking across the backline now and we have guys who can create something out of nothing.

“We are getting some real depth within our squad, as well. That competitiveness in the squad and that depth is absolutely key to winning trophies.

“It's really exciting,” Youngs told Talking Rugby.
