Big game guide to this Saturday

Figure image
Two teams with 14 English league titles between them in the Guinness Premiership game of the day at Welford Road on Saturday (3.15pm).

Defending champions Leicester Tigers host the 2008 winner Wasps in an intriguing encounter, as just one place separates the two old rivals in the league table.

Tickets have been in great demand with around 23,000 sold in advance. Remaining tickets are on sale now and, with sport affected by the extreme weather, there is sure to be another rush to secure places at the top-of-the-table clash.

The pitch has been covered all week and the move to a 3.15pm kick-off allows the game to be played in the best available conditions.

The Tigers ticket office is open until 5pm Friday and from 9am on matchday. Phone 0844 856 1880, book online or call in.

The Tigers Club Shop will be open at Welford Road from 9am on Saturday and Ben Kay’s testimonial committee will also have merchandise available inside the stadium.

The Final Whistle public bar is open from noon for all supporters, serving food and refreshments, and also after the game, with live music from Rock Bottom, our resident band.

To add to the attractions on the day, Tigers will welcome members of more than 50 Scout, Cub, Beaver and Explorer Scouts groups from around Leicestershire.

The Scout movement will also have their national exhibition trailer and boulder wall located outside the Caterpillar Stand, together with two bands at the stadium and a troupe of entertainers.

In these extreme weather conditions, please allow plenty of extra time for your journey to the game and, with such a large crowd, try to make your way through the turnstiles and into your places well in advance of kick-off.

Please note the new kick-off time of 3.15pm!
