Defence coach Phil Blake is leaving Leicester Tigers at the end of the season to pursue new opportunities.Blake enjoyed a successful playing career in rugby league in Australia before coaching in both rugby codes, including spells with Manly, Western Force and as defence and skills coach with Australia under head coach Robbie Deans. He joined Tigers at the start of the 2014/15 season.
Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “Phil only moved here last year after a very successful career in coaching back in Australia, and he has become a popular member of the team and has worked extremely hard with the squad. Our defence has improved throughout the season and we have one of the best defensive records in the Aviva Premiership.
“Phil is keen to look for new opportunities in his own career development as a coach, and we wish him and his family well for the future.”
