Brennan's golden birthday

Tigers mad Brennan Lumby received a dream birthday present when he won the chance to be the Leicester mascot for the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Bath.

Brennan won the prize of a lifetime after finding the Golden Ticket in the Junior Tigers Club (JTC) membership box he received from his parents as a present for his 8th birthday.

Now he will lead out Tigers in the biggest game of the season so far when they face Bath in the last eight of the Heineken Cup at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday, April 11 (kick-off 6pm).

He will get to meet his favourite players, England internationals Jordan Crane, Tom Croft and Harry Ellis, as well as the rest of the Tigers team.

His mum Nicola said: “He is so made up. He was moon-walking to school, he was so excited!”

The Golden Ticket was part of the JTC membership package that Brennan received from his mum and dad for his birthday.

The ticket had been hidden inside a JTC box and was found by Brennan on the morning of his birthday last Wednesday.

Nicola, who lives in Southam, Warwickshire, said: “I order the membership and begged them to have it in the post for his birthday, which they did.

“I saw the ticket and gave Brennan a clue about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the Golden Ticket.

“He was ecstatic. He was bouncing on the bed. We had already got him tickets to watch the Bath game, so this is fantastic. It’s the best present ever because he loves Leicester Tigers.”

Tickets for the quarter-final against Bath are available from the Welford Road ticket office on 08701 28 34 30 or online.

Junior Tigers Club membership costs £20 and includes exclusive merchandise including a Harry Ellis wallchart, a drawstring gym bag, a water bottle, sweatband and sticker set. Membership also includes the adoption of a tiger at West Midland Safari Park, £1 off ticket prices for all home games, the chance to visit the Tigers training ground and an invitation to the JTC Christmas Party.
