West Bridgford are the first winners of the Prima Tiger Bowl.

They beat Bury St Edmunds 3-1 in their opening game at Welford Road to set up a final showdown with Burton-on-Trent, who beat South Leicester 3-0.

The Nottingham side then produced an excellent performance to win 4-1 and land the Prima Tiger Bowl.

David Howard, the club’s Under-10s manager, said: “It’s been absolutely fantastic. They are thrilled. They realise what an opportunity they have had to play at Welford Road.”

The games took place before Tigers’ last home game against Viadana.

The Prima Tiger Bowl was launched this season due to the growth of the Prima Tiger Cup – the national competition for under-10s teams hosted by Leicester Tigers and supported by Loughborough-based Prima Solutions.

It saw four teams who narrowly missed out on reaching the knockout stages enjoy their chance to run out at Welford Road.
