Castro given replacement's role for Italians

Martin Castrogiovanni will have to wait to add to his 40 caps for Italy after being named on the bench for the RBS 6 Nations opener against France tomorrow.

Coach Pierre Berbizier has named Salvatore Perugini of Toulouse, who was suspended during the autumn internationals, and Gloucester's Carlos Nieto as his starting pair, with Castrogiovanni and Andrea Lo Cicero of L'Aquilla as back-up on the bench.

The starting XV includes three players based with Guinness Premiership clubs, plus four from Leicester's Heineken Cup quarter-final rivals Stade Francais.
