Leicester Tigers directors, officials and players paid tribute to the club's major sponsors at a special dinner at Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray on Tuesday evening.
Main sponsors Caterpillar and representatives of Holland & Barrett, MET-Rx, DX Group, Mark Group, Goldsmiths, GE, StubHub, STIHL, Chester Barrie, Big Bear, next and De Montfort University were welcomed by Tigers directors, coaches, players and senior staff for the event.
Tigers chairman Peter Tom, chief executive Simon Cohen and director or rugby Richard Cockerill were among those who welcomed the sponsors.
Peter Tom said: "There is an amazing passion about people who support this club. We could not be in the position we are today without that level of support and the assistance of our sponsors.”
Chief executive Simon Cohen added: “It is great to see so many of our sponsors returning year after year because that means the relationships are strong and intact. We are very grateful for your support which allows us to do the things we do with the squad, the staff and the infrastructure of the club. We certainly couldn’t do it without you.”
Tigers players Dan Cole, Tom Youngs, Blaine Scully, Brad Thorn, Owen Williams, Anthony Allen, and club captain Ed Slater joined representatives of the sponsors for dinner as well as joining host Matt Poole on stage for conversations about the club, the game and the prospects for the rest of the season.
