Challenge Cup quarter-final date confirmed

The European Challenge Cup quarter-final between Leicester Tigers and Castres Olympique has been confirmed as a 3.00pm kick-off on Sunday, September 20 at Welford Road.

This fixture was originally scheduled for early April before the coronavirus pandemic led to a suspension of sport across Europe.

Now tournament organisers EPCR have confirmed dates and times of the quarter-final ties in the Challenge Cup and Heineken Champions Cup.

Live television coverage of the Tigers-Castres clash is scheduled with BT Sport.

The winners of this game face Toulon or the Scarlets in the semi-final on the weekend after the quarter-finals. According to the draw for the knockout stages, if Tigers beat Castres, they will be away to Toulon or at home to Scarlets in the semi-finals, depending on the outcome of their encounter in the south of France.

Tigers have already been informed of the fixtures in the first four rounds of the Gallagher Premiership season when it resumes next month, with a trip to Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, August 15 followed by Bath Rugby and London Irish at Welford Road, then Gloucester away. Kick-off times and live TV selections for BT Sport and Channel 5 are still to be confirmed.
