Champions Cup pool draw diary date

The pool draws for the 2015/16 Champions Cup will take place next month.Leicester Tigers will learn who they face in Europe’s premier club competition when the draw is made is Neuchatel, Switzerland on Wednesday, June 17.   The event will get underway at 1.15pm (UK time) with the draw for the Challenge Cup, which will be followed by the Champions Cup pool draw.   Both draws will streamed live on www.epcrugby.com. Live television coverage will be confirmed shortly.   The event comperes in Neuchatel will be Craig Doyle (BT Sport) and Raphael Ibanez (France Televisions), with Dimitri Yachvili (beIN Sports) and a representative of Sky Sports conducting the draws.   Champions Cup pool draw key principles   The 20 clubs which have qualified on merit from the Aviva Premiership, Top 14 and Guinness PRO12 leagues, and/or the Champions Cup play-offs, will compete in the 2015/16 European Rugby Champions Cup in five pools of four. The clubs are divided into four tiers based on their qualification position in their leagues. This will be done by a draw in advance of the main pool draw. Each pool will have at least one club from each of the three leagues. Each of the five pools will have one club from each of the four tiers. There will be no more than two clubs from the same league in a pool. No pool will contain two PRO12 clubs from the same country. Clubs from the same league will be kept apart until the allocation of the Tier 4 clubs.
