Santa Claus came to the JTC VIP Area for the Christmas Market on Sunday, as Leicester Tigers secured a famous win over current European champions RC Toulon.
The day started with a Christmas Market on the plaza with real reindeers and the JTC VIP Area was open for 4 hours! We had Christmas activities in the JTC VIP Area on Sunday, December 7, including a huge screen showing the Disney film Frozen and Santa Claus in his grotto giving out sweets and chocolates exclusively to JTC members! Following the Christmas Market the Leicester Tigers went on to beat RC Toulon in the European Champions Cup, 25 - 21.
For the player question and answer session we were joined by Terrence Hepetema, Gonzalo Camacho and Riccardo Brugnara. We learnt that they all wanted spare body parts to replace their injured ones off Santa for Christmas this year, and they all prefer watching the X-Factor instead of Strictly Come Dancing! The lucky matchday mascot winners were Thomas Revell and Owen Wills, who got to run on to the pitch with Ben Youngs before the match. The Tiger Cubs were Jasper Bath, Zach Shearer, Josh C-B Alexander and Edward Perrin. For this one - off special event we had Luke Wills as our ball deliverer and Will Beggy won the chance to Challenge Welford at half time.
Will took on Welford in a sledge relay race, where he had to pull his sledge around agility poles, stack a pile of presents on his sledge and then pull them back to the finish line. Will was quick off the start and the Welford Road crowd cheered him to the finish line in an easy win over Welford! He won his very own JTC t-shirt and £25 next gift voucher! Well done Will!
If you would like to Challenge Welford, be a matchday mascot or Tiger Cub make sure you come down to the JTC VIP Area 2 hours before kick-off and put your name in to the draw. The next home game is against Bath Rugby in the Aviva Premiership on Sunday, January 4, 2pm kick-off.
See you soon!
