Aviva Premiership fixtures during the Christmas holiday period have now been confirmed, with Leicester Tigers scheduled to host defending champions Saracens on New Year's Day afternoon.
Premiership Rugby today announces the line-up of games scheduled for live coverage by BT Sport over the Christmas and New Year period, with live matches to be shown on seven days over the two weekends of the festive period.
Tigers are away to Exeter Chiefs on Christmas Eve afternoon before seeing in the new year back on home turf against Saracens. Both games kick off at 3pm.
In Round 13, Tigers make the short trip to Wasps in a Sunday afternoon fixture on January 8 (3pm) in a match chosen for BT Sport live coverage.
“Our great relationship with BT Sport means we have been able to construct a compelling schedule over Christmas and New Year which will see live rugby on seven different days over the two weekends,” said Dominic Hayes, commercial director at Premiership Rugby.
“The season has already got off to a record-breaking start with more than one million viewers watching Aviva Premiership Rugby on the opening weekend on BT Sport and ITV Sport.
“Attendances are rising, and for the first time this season Aviva Premiership Rugby is being broadcast in more than 200 countries around the world ensuring that more people than ever are watching the competition.”
Tickets for Tigers versus Saracens go on sale at the Tigers ticket office from this Sunday. These will be available to season ticket holders requiring extra tickets for friends or family and to club members before general sales to all other supporters open next Friday (September 30).
