The squad return today from their pre-season training camp in Saint Affrique in southern France.
Cockerill has blooded all seven of Tigers' summer arrivals in friendly matches against Montpelier and Castres.
The Tigers head coach says he is happy with how the squad has developed during their stay in France.
“We had new combinations against Castres,” he said. “Jeremy Staunton, Billy Twelvetrees and Anthony Allen were playing together for the first time and did some good things.
“We can be positive. You look past the result and look at the effort that the lads put in and the work we got through, which was key.
“The new players have slotted in well, which we knew when we recruited them because we know they are good guys.
“You start putting Geordan Murphy, Aaron Mauger, Sam Vesty, Toby Flood and other guys back into the squad and it is promising.
“On the whole it has been a really good week. We are really pleased with the work that the guys have done.”
Tigers are next in action against Nottingham at Meadow Lane on Saturday.
