Corry named England captain for SA

Tigers skipper Martin Corry will replace the suspended Phil Vickery as England captain for their crunch clash with South Africa this Friday (kick-off 8pm).

Corry, who led Tigers to an historic double last season, will hope to inspire his men to a victory that would be a massive boost to their World Cup campaign.

England have decided not to appeal against Vickery's two-match ban for tripping American centre Paul Emerick in their opening match of the 2007 tournament. As a result of the London Wasp player's absence, Matt Stevens will come into the starting line-up and Perry Freshwater will take a position among the replacements.

Fly-half Olly Barkley has also been ruled out of Friday's match, with Saracens' Andy Farrell now set to make his first start at No.10 for the defending World Champions.
