Crane impressed by impact of new faces

Jordan Crane says the new faces at Leicester Tigers have all settled in quickly at the club and have really added to the squad.Tigers have recruited heavily this season, bringing in 11 new players. Dom Barrow, Greg Bateman, Peter Betham, Mike Fitzgerald, Opeti Fonua, Jono Kitto, Lachlan McCaffrey, Telusa Veainu and Mike Williams have all featured for the first team while back-rower Brendon O’Connor and former South Africa captain Jean de Villiers are set to make their bow in the coming weeks.   And Crane says he has been hugely impressed by the new faces.   “When you bring in new guys you don’t know how they’re going to fit in and how they’re going to go,” said Crane. “But I think every single one of them has added to the squad and offered something different and something new.   “They’re all playing really well and that’s just great to see.”   Crane makes his first start of the season on Saturday in the Aviva Premeirship game away to Exeter Chiefs after recovering from a knee injury.   He came on as a second-half replacement in last week’s victory over Quins and says he feels as good as ever.   “It felt great, probably the best I’ve felt coming back from an injury,” said Crane. “That’s credit to Alex Martin and the physio team, Dave Orton and Will Gowtage, and the work they put in with me.   “We’re just building each week. It took a little while to get all the new systems and the new style of play and everything but we’re showing some good signs and some positive signs. You can’t really complain with winning your first three.   “Everything is very new so who knows where we could be at the end of the season? If we get everybody fit and everybody right and everybody going in the same direction it could be absolutely great for us,” added Crane.
