Croft eyeing double in Cardiff

Tom Croft says he will be supporting Leicester Tigers from the stands in their LV= Cup clash with Cardiff Blues - but first he has a Six Nations job to do in the Welsh capital.Croft has been named in the England squad for their opening game of the RBS 6 Nations against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Friday evening (8.05pm).   The following day Tigers travel to BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park to face the Blues eyeing a place in the LV= Cup semi-finals, and Croft says he will be there to cheer on his clubmates.   "We’ll play Friday night,” he says. “We’ll then be waking up the next morning and watching the boys play.   “It’s disappointing dropping out of the European competition but the LV= Cup I’ve always seen as a huge competition, whether you use it for the younger lads like when I came through, or you stick in some senior lads.   “And it’s silverware. The club are there to win trophies so it’s one we’ll fight for and then once that’s done we’ll push on with the Aviva Premiership.”   Croft is set to provide second row and back row cover for England at the Millennium Stadium and, if he makes an appearance, will win a 39th cap for his country.   The 29-year-old says he is looking forward to wearing the Red Rose again after recovering from serious neck and knee injuries.   “To be in the 23 is a real honour, a real privilege,” he told Talking Rugby. “It’s a chance to get out and play rugby, whether that’s playing for Leicester or playing for England.   “I think my mind-set, my mentality has changed a little bit over the last couple of years with the injuries I’ve had. It’s just about getting out there and enjoying yourself and if you do get that chance you go out, try and shine as much as you can and contribute to what will hopefully be a great game.” Click here for England team news.
