Tigers forward Tom Croft finished second in the voting for the Norman Broadbent Young Player of the Year at the Professional Rugby Players' Association awards evening on Wednesday.

The prize went to Northampton Saints’ Ben Foden, ahead of Croft and third-placed Danny Care of Harlequins.

London Irish centre Seilala Mapusua won the Computacenter Players' Player Award 2009.

Damian Hopley, PRA chief executive, said: “My congratulations go to all the nominees and winners, particularly Seilala and Ben, who have excelled for their clubs throughout this season. We were delighted to see so many players and supporters of the PRA attending the dinner, not only to recognise the outstanding talent within the English game, but also to help raise much needed funds for The Players’ Charity, the PRA Benevolent Fund.”
