An award-winning street dance crew from Leicester will be among the entertainment at Tigers in the Park.

Addict Dance Studios, based in Leicester’s Churchgate, beat competition from across the country to win the UK Dance Experience, held in Wales, with their high-energy street dance.

The crew are also set to feature in StreetDance, a Channel 4 documentary series which starts on Saturday (August 13) telling the story of up-and-coming dance crews at the Street Dance XXL UK Championship.

Now Addict are returning to Leicester to perform at Tigers in the Park, a day of games and activities for the whole community being held by Leicester Tigers to mark the start of the season.

“It will be great to perform at Tigers in the Park,” says artistic director Gareth Chown. “They have spent a lot of time going up and down the country performing so it will nice to perform in our own city and for the local community.

“It will be great to come home and do something for Leicester again.”

Tigers in the Park will be held on Nelson Mandela Park and the plaza in front of the Caterpillar Stand at Welford Road.

It will be held on Saturday, September 3 when Tigers host Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership. Tigers in the Park starts at 11am and runs until kick-off at 3pm and entry is free.

Other attractions include a Bollywood dance group as well as a bouncy castle, an inflatable run and a rodeo rugby ball.

The Tigers Roadshow Vehicle, known as The Maul, will be running the Speed Pass challenge, Spot the Ball and our interactive Tigers quiz, while the Tigers community team will be holding tag rugby sessions.

The army will be bringing a mini tank and their climbing wall and there will also be stalls, food and a bar.

Tickets to the Exeter Chiefs game at Welford Road on Saturday, September 3 (3pm kick-off) are on sale now from the Welford Road ticket office, on 0844 856 1880 or online by clicking here
