The Leicester Tigers Foundation are delighted to announce an unveiling date for the long-awaited Monument which will take pride of place outside Mattioli Woods Welford Road.

  • Unveiling service on Friday, September 9 at Mattioli Woods Welford Road

The Monument is being unveiled on the new plaza outside the stadium and will recognise 54 Tigers players who died in conflict between 1897 and 1944.

It will also give special mention to members of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment who served and came home from the World Wars as well as the Tigers players who served their country throughout the club’s long history.

The Tigers Family have heavily supported this project and will also be recognised on a donators’ plaque, where a supporter who has donated towards a Monument Crown has had the opportunity to have a name of their choice engraved within this plaque to sit alongside some legends of the club.

Tigers Foundation manager Sam Swift said: “Without the support of the Tigers Family, this project would never have happened and, with that in mind, the Leicester Tigers Foundation would like to remind all Crown owners that they are very welcome to attend the unveiling with a guest to share in this commemorative service.”

The unveiling service is at 11.00am on Friday, September 9 at Mattioli Woods Welford Road with guests advised to arrive from 10.30am. Parking is available on the Crumbie car park on a first-come first-served basis.
