Develop strength and balance with Steady Steps

Are you or a family member over the age of 65, unsteady on your feet or have a fear of falling? Then a new free programme starting at Mattioli Woods Welford Road at the end of February may be just the thing for you.

‘Steady Steps’ is a FREE 24-week programme for adults age 65+ at risk of falls. The programme works on improving stability, mobility, balance, coordination, and confidence.

It is largely chair based exercise, but participants will be encouraged to progress to standing exercise, and some may even learn how to safely lower themselves to the floor and back up again. Everything can be done at your own pace so there is no need to feel worried that you won’t be able to keep up!

The programme will start on Monday, February 28 (1.30-3pm) at Mattioli Woods Welford Road and will run for 24 weeks. 

Everyone is assessed to make sure you are suitable for the programme. If you aren’t, we will ensure you are given advice on what to do next.
