Leicester Tigers great Paul Dodge has been named in the club's Walk of Legends.

Dodge won the vote of Tigers supporters to fill the inside centre position in the Legends XV ahead of Pat Howard, Will Greenwood and Daryl Gibson.

It reunites Dodge with Dusty Hare, Rory Underwood, and Sir Clive Woodward, teammates of his in the famousTigers side of the 1980s that have already been voted into the Walk of Legends.

Dodge scored 93 tries in 437 games for Tigers from 1975-1993, and was capped 32 times by England and twice by the British Lions. He helped Tigers to six John Player and Pilkington Cup finals in the 1970s and 80s and was captain in 1988 when they won the inaugural Courage Club's Championship. He has gone on to coach at all levels within the club, including the first-team, and is currently working with young Tigers hopefuls.

Dodge said: “It is a great honour. There have been some very good players mentioned already so to get the public vote is very pleasing. There are also a lot of good players who haven't been mentioned so I am very pleased to be in the Legends XV.

“The names that have come in so far are from the 70s and 80s era. It will be interesting to see if any of the Martin Johnson side will get in.

“It will also be interesting to see how the half-backs go and there's another winger to go, it will be very fascinating to see how the public votes.”

The public vote now turns to the right-wing slot. Fans can vote for their legend from Harry Wilkinson, Tony Underwood, John Duggan and Barry Evans in the Leicester Mercury newspaper and website.

And supporters can secure their place in the history and future of Leicester Tigers by purchasing an exclusive engraved commemorative brick to add to the Walk of Legends, complete with a personalised message, and see it laid alongside the names of the club's heroes.

Add your own name or celebrate a birthday, or buy a place in the Walk of Legends for a friend or relative as a perfect Christmas gift for a Tigers supporter. We can also supply a replica to keep at home.

Prices are from £44.95 for a single brick or £79.95 for a double brick. You can also collect a £5-off voucher at the next home game, against Perpignan at Welford Road on December 6.

See the Leicester Mercury website to make your weekly vote. The poll is located two-thirds of the way down the home page. Voting for the right-wing slot starts on Wednesday.
