The Leicester Tigers Down Syndrome team have enjoyed a successful second year.
With more participation and engagement than ever before, the programme has welcomed new players from throughout Leicestershire and beyond the county.
There are now more than 40 participants, which includes an increase of more than 20% in consistent engagement at sessions.
Although those taking part predominantly come from Leicestershire and Rutland, this year has also seen members travel from Northampton.
The season kicked off in September, when club partner Dyno-Rod hosted a special session involving players from the men's and women's senior squad. The event also saw Dyno-Rod extend their support of the programme for another year.

Returning to regular training sessions every other Sunday, the team have also travelled around the country taking part in tournaments and festivals.
This included the Wooden Spoon festival in Coventry and playing on the pitch at the 2025 Gallagher Premiership Final, as part of Project Rugby.
The programme has also seen a number of generous acts from our club partners. Samworth Brothers donated an array of snacks to the team ahead of a Tag Rugby festival in June, while alongside sponsoring the programme, Dyno-Rod recently held a special session at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, with Jack van Poortvliet and Freddie Steward in attendance to award the participants with medals to celebrate the end of the season.
Finally, off the pitch, club partner PPL PRS took members of the Down Syndrome team to a special event in March.
Alongside several senior men's players, the team enjoyed a bumper day out, meeting, interacting and petting a range of farm animals.
Although the season has ended for 2024/25, the programme is set to enter it's third year this coming September. Keep an eye on our social channels and LeicesterTigers.com for more information.
