Leicester Tigers, with the support of Wooden Spoon, have teamed up with South Leicestershire College to a launch a new sports-driven education course aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds.

Age is the only qualification to take part in Dynamite Club – Leaders of the Pack and Tigers are recruiting for the course now.

Andy Harston, Tigers education and inclusion officer, said: “This is a great opportunity for young adults to join something positive and make a difference to their life.

“We are looking to help anyone who needs a boost or a chance to change their life-path, using sports to generate interest, increase individual health and provide a career path for the future.”

Leaders of the Pack begins on January 24 and will see entrants work towards a set of nationally-recognised sport-related qualifications.

Participants will take part in a challenging programme of sports and core fitness, learning theory and practical skills in a fun and professional environment.

Based at Welford Road stadium and South Leicestershire College’s new campus in South Wigston, each participant will be fitter, healthier and better prepared for further education or the workplace.

There will be opportunities to participate in sport through the South Leicestershire College Academy of Sport and through local clubs. Visits from specialist coaches and trips including Tigers home games will bring the theory to life.
