Ellis and Lions extend winning run

Harry Ellis played another 80 minutes as the British & Irish Lions stretched their winning run in South Africa to five matches.

In his second start of the tour, Ellis was fully involved in a 26-23 victory over Western Province in Cape Town, sealed with a late penalty from replacement James Hook.

Leicester Tigers flanker Tom Croft was used as a 69th-minute replacement in the penultimate fixture before the opening Test against South Africa.

Ellis had a hand in the opening score for Tommy Bowe, then Ugo Monye added a try in the opposite corner and Martyn Williams scored a third during the second half. Stephen Jones kicked the rest of the points before Hook took on the final kick.
