The Leicester Tigers scrum-half, who made his Lions debut as a replacement in Wednesday’s win over the Golden Lions, was characteristically in the centre of the action in attack and defence throughout Saturday’s game.
Stephen Ferris and Keith Earls scored the Lions tries in the third win from three games at the start of the tour to South Africa, but they were made to battle all the way after leading 23-14 at half-time
The Lions opened the tour with a 37-25 victory over a Royal XV in Rustenburg and then beat Golden Lions 74-10.
The tour moves on to a clash with the Sharks in Durban on Wednesday, June 10 (6.10pm). The match will be shown live on the big screen in the ABC Bar at Welford Road.
