Following a Leicester Tigers internal disciplinary hearing held on Wednesday, scrum-half Harry Ellis has been suspended from playing for one week.

Club officials reviewed the incident which led to his citing after the Heineken Cup tie against USA Perpignan and have found Ellis guilty of a dangerous tackle on Dan Carter in contravention of Law 10.4 (e).
.
A club statement said: “Harry has been banned for one week, and he will miss the Guinness Premiership match against Newcastle Falcons this weekend.

“The club accepts Harry’s view that there was no malice and no intent in his actions.

“Harry is sorry that the incident happened and he would like to apologise to Perpignan player Dan Carter in respect of the incident.”

Ellis is due to appear before an independent disciplinary committee as a result of the citing for an alleged dangerous tackle in contravention of Law 10.4 (e) in Dublin on Friday.
