Leicester Tigers trio Finn Carnduff, Ollie Allan and Cameron Miell have been selected in England’s squad for the World Rugby U20 Championship final.

England will battle France in the tournament showpiece this Friday, July 19, at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa (kick off: 6pm).

Carnduff will captain the side once again, after doing so in each round of the tournament, the flanker earning his 20th cap for the U20s.

Meanwhile, scrum half Allan was instrumental in England’s semi-final victory against Ireland, scoring the try that put England ahead for the first time in the match and assisting the winning try with a ranging miss-pass, while prop Miell has had a heavier workload in the earlier rounds and will begin amongst the replacements.

England have not tasted U20 World Cup glory since 2016, though the tournament was cancelled from 2020 to 2022.

Current Tigers Anthony Watson and Harry Wells were part of the England side that were the first-ever to win the Junior World Championships in 2013, but Carnduff would become the first Leicester player to lift the trophy as captain.

This Friday will be the first time England U20s have reached the final since 2018, where they were defeated by Friday's opponents France.

The French have won the last three iterations of the competition, including a dominant 50 - 14 victory over Ireland in the final of the 2023 tournament.
